About the Colorado Nursery Research & Education Foundation (CNREF)

Colorado Nursery Research & Education Foundation (CNREF) was formed in 1989 to support the science and practice of horticulture within the State of Colorado. It's purpose is to raise funds to support nursery-related research and provide annual scholarships for horticulture students at Colorado State University, Front Range Community College, and Northeastern Junior College.

How have we helped?
Since 1990 CNREF has given $104,150 worth of scholarships to 106 students majoring in horticulture at Colorado State University, Northeastern Junior College, and Front Range Community College. $98,939 has been granted to research projects such as pot-in-pot and transplant establishment studies. Research projects based on industry trends and business needs are identified annually at a meeting with CSU and members of the nursery association.
